Are there times when you want to take your child to the doctor, but struggle to find a time that fits your schedule? Maybe you’re still nervous about going to a doctor’s office during the COVID-19 pandemic, so you’ve put off a visit for a non-urgent medical issue.
If you’re looking for help with a minor health issue, telehealth may be the answer.
Parkland Community Health Plan (PCHP) now offers telehealth services at no cost for all HEALTHfirst (STAR Medicaid) and KIDSfirst (CHIP) members age 0-21. This includes easy and convenient access to pediatricians through a partnership with telehealth provider KidzDocNow.
What is KidzDocNow, and when should I use it?
KidzDocNow is a platform that allows you to talk with a doctor on video from the comfort of home, using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Doctors are available 7am – 11pm, 7 days a week.
Some of the issues you can bring up during a visit include:
- Upset stomach and other digestive issues
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Prescription refills
- Questions about nutrition and exercise
- Questions about newborn health or breastfeeding
- Mental health concerns
