How to Get Help During a Mental Health Crisis

If you need immediate help, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room. Feeling suicidal? Call the 9-8-8 Lifeline.
If you or someone you know is having a mental health crisis, it’s important to get help as soon as possible. It is also a good idea to plan ahead so you’ll know what to do in an emergency. See below for some resources to help you get prepared and respond quickly when needed.

Be Prepared: Create a Mental Health Crisis Plan
Fill out a crisis plan for yourself or a loved one before an emergency happens. That way, your support system will know what to do in an emergency. You can create the plan on your own, with a mental health professional, or with loved ones.
Earn Rewards for Behavioral Health Follow-Up Care
PCHP’s STAR and CHIP members age 6 and older can earn rewards for completing a behavioral health follow-up visit after being hospitalized for a behavioral health diagnosis:
- Reward for completing a follow-up visit within 7 days after hospitalization.
- Reward for completing a follow-up visit 8–30 days after hospitalization.
