Welcome, New Members!
We’re glad you’re part of Parkland Community Health Plan. Here’s what to expect and how to make the most of your benefits.
Read Over Your Member Handbook
Your member handbook explains all your plan benefits, services, rights & responsibilities, and how to get care. You can view program details and the handbook for your plan type.
You can view or download your handbook anytime. If you prefer, we will mail you a hard copy, or you can ask for the handbook in audio, Braille, large print, or another language — at no cost to you. Just contact us, and we’ll make sure you get it in the format you need.
Your Quick Start Guide
Start on the path toward better health today! Get the most out of your plan with these easy steps.
1. Check Your Member ID Card
Your ID card lists your name, plan, and doctor information. Check that everything is correct. Since copayments are not required for STAR Medicaid members, these dollar amounts are not listed on ID cards.
Lost your card? Call right away to replace a lost ID card or request a new one. You can also view your ID card or request a new one at any time through the PCHP Member Portal. Bring your card whenever you see a doctor or fill a prescription. Learn more about your ID card.
2. Find a Provider and Complete Your First PCP Visit.
A primary care provider (PCP) is the main doctor, nurse, or clinic that will provide most of your health care. They will help you with regular checkups and other routine medical needs. They can also refer you to a specialist when you need one.
Be sure to choose a provider from the PCHP network as soon as you can. If you don’t select your provider, one will be assigned to you automatically. New members can earn a reward for completing a PCP visit within 90 days of joining Parkland Community Health.
Not sure where to find a provider? You can look for one on the provider online search tool. Just enter your ZIP code and product type, and you can search by location, gender, specialty, languages spoken, and more.
3. Sign Up for our Member Portal
The PCHP Member Portal is an easy way to find information about your plan benefits, claim status, and more. It only takes a few minutes to sign up.
The member portal gives you access to:
- Plan information and benefits.
- Details about your claims.
- Status on requested/authorized services.
- A replacement ID card.
- Network providers and pharmacies.
- Behavioral health and vision providers and resources.
- Pharmacy formulary.
- And more!
Also, you can create an account for Paid Rewards. Keep track of the gift cards and other items you earn through healthy behaviors like completing checkups and getting vaccines (shots).
4. Complete Your Initial Health Survey.*
Take control of your health by completing an Initial Health Survey (also called a Health Risk Assessment). This is a series of questions about your health and lifestyle. It helps PCHP provide you with the best possible care.
The screening can be found in the PCHP Member Portal and takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Members who complete the screening can earn a $20 reward.
Explore Extra Benefits and Rewards
As a PCHP member, you get more than standard coverage. Our Value-Added Services give you access to extra programs that support your health and family.
You can also earn rewards for healthy activities like checkups or flu shots—and redeem them for gift cards to buy food and other essentials.
