Services & Benefits

After you enroll in STAR Medicaid or CHIP Perinate, you must select Parkland Community Health Plan as your health plan in order to receive these services.

You can find a full list of services and specific benefit details on our website including exclusions and limitations in the member handbook.

Prenatal care is an important part of a healthy pregnancy. During the first trimester, prenatal care includes blood tests, a physical exam, conversations about lifestyle and more.

Prenatal vitamins are formulated specifically for women who are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, and women who are breast-feeding, with particular emphasis on folic acid, iron and calcium.

Every woman's labor and delivery experience is unique. Your doctor will help you create a delivery plan, including options for pain medication and thoughts about episiotomy and other procedures.

Postpartum care isn't limited to your physical health, but also includes your mental well-being, such as managing mood swings, irritability, sadness and anxiety.

Behavioral health services (includes mental health and substance abuse) are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Benefits include a wide range of prescription and some over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. We also offer home delivery services.

Your child gets dental benefits, like exams and cleanings, through a separate dental managed care organization.

Healthy eyes are an important part of good overall health. You can get a vision exam and glasses, if needed.

You have a choice in your family's health. After you enroll in Medicaid STAR or CHIP Perinate, you can select Parkland Community Health Plan as your health plan to receive these value-added services at no extra cost.

Members can get a cell phone at no cost through the Lifeline program. Plan options include data, talk, and text.*

PCHP offers nonemergency medical transportation (NEMT) to all HEALTHfirst members to their doctor office, food bank or grocery store.
